This website provides information about a proposed settlement of a class action claiming that some HID headlights on 2005 and 2006 model year Audi A4 (B7) vehicles, 2005 model year Audi A4 (B6) vehicles and 2004-2007 (pre-GP) model year Volkswagen Touareg vehicles can flicker or shut off unexpectedly while the vehicles are being driven. Defendant denies these claims and maintains that the HID headlights on these vehicles function properly.
The class action, pending in the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey, is entitled Marie Rita Kennedy-Lebar, et al. v. Volkswagen Group of America, Inc., Case No. 2:10-CV-05126-WJM-MF. Without any admission of wrongdoing on Defendant’s part, the Parties have agreed to a settlement of this action which the court has conditionally approved.
Audi and Volkswagen have agreed to extend its New Vehicle Limited Warranty to cover HID headlight bulb repair or replacement as described in the Class Notice and also the commonly asked questions found on this website. In addition, cash reimbursements may be available to Class Members who spent money on HID headlight bulb repairs.
